Thanksgiving and Facebook?
I noticed on facebook the other day that one of my friends used the fan application to become a fan of Thanksgiving. At first I thought this was ridiculous, and that this person must of really had nothing better to do this week. I clicked on the facebook page devoted to Thanksgiving and I actually came to the conclusion that this page does in fact serve a useful purpose. People who were fans of the page were exchanging dinner recipes and different ideas for the holiday. There is even talk about black Friday and links to advertisements for different department store sales. I think this is a very good medium for people to share there holiday traditions and secret recipes...I even thought about becoming a fan of the page (but then I came to my senses and returned to my original opinion about the page being ridiculous, I can be a fan of Thanksgiving without letting the whole world know, obvi)

I am shocked by the time Facebook users devote to creating the most obscure 'Fan Pages'. Its shocking to see but many of these bizarre pages draw tens of thousands of fans, just reiterating the power of social networking sites like Facebook, and their relevance to their user's lives.
ReplyDeleteThe weirdest fan page that I have ever seen came up on my news feed under suggestions, and it read, "Become a fan of snuggling." I couldn't even believe people would join that page, and who is the wack job who created it.
